The View!

Rosie O Donnell makes The View a good show. Why? Because they don't talk about stupid things anymore, and when they do, Rosie brings it down to Earth. For example:

Barbara Walters: "Oh. My. God. At the kennedy benefit - That I was invited to by (Insert name of famous person) four people were wearing the same (insert high end fashion designer name brand) dress! And guess who was wearing it too!? The first lady!!"

Rosie: "I don't see why that matters...I mean, I shop at the GAP and Target and whenever I see people wearing the same thing I high-five them!"

Barbara stutters and tries to make herself seem less uptight and full of herself....but fails. It's funny to see her try to passively attack Rosie."Well, we want to hear about [Rosie's] house! We know how she likes to make fun of the rich peoples houses!" "Well, it is a movie star house no doubt. It's big, but it's not intrusive" Then they started talking a bit political. Rosie is a lot more educated than I thought. Poor little hot republican girl gets owned all the time! Even by the guests! Barbara is so lame, she only knows what she's told and can't think outside of that. I think she's passed her prime, she should stick to interviews. I'm sorry if this hurts you Barbara, I do understand you do have a fragile ego as it seems as though you are going through some sort of mid-life problems feeling like you need to be hip or something...but it's the truth.

I find it funny how they replace the minorities in this show. The blacks to the gays! At least the gays are getting some good positive publicity. It's good to see people being educated about the gay culture, even Barbara Walters. You can feel Barbara's views though she says she supports things. She was talking about how the schools had to 'deal' with gay issues with children (as if these issues were finished and accepted) and now they have to 'deal' with Transgendered children. Deal..? The schools have to deal with it? The children that are gay have to deal with the discrimination, not the schools! The schools need to learn to accept the children for who they are, not deal with the issue! And now you think that they are burdened with transgendered children?

Ahh well..some people are like that. Rosie makes it better because she is there to provide a more insightful opinion about these topics while also not putting Barbara down as I'm sure I would.

Anyways...Merry Christmas :)

Reaching for the sky.

Perfection.

The topic of the day. Can we attain it? Is it possible? Do we expect it of people? If not, what do we expect? Growth? Learning? Maturity?

Do mistakes make you bad? No, no they don't. Not learning from your mistakes? Doesn't make you bad either. It takes time to learn these things, and it takes understanding people to help nuture this growth. Self-awareness is key here.

Admittedly, I am not always self-aware, I do try my best, but we cannot always have the glasses of clarity on when we are judging ourselves. Also, we have to recognize when judging others, we also do not have this magical magnifying glass to know how they are or who they are. We should not fall into the confirmation bias trap, and we should not be victims of priming. Our own outlooks often cloud our judgements on people. Insecurities of your own are brought to the surface and projected onto others and we could never know it happened.

So the question becomes, who are we to make judgements? Why do we judge people all of the time and not accept them. I failed, I conformed to the judgements... There was a time I would accept most people, and now that I have dug myself this hole...I find it hard to climb out.

People may laugh, and people may judge you, it's sad to think they have the power to judge another person, we are no better than anyone else in this world. Am I better than anyone else around? No, I am not.

What makes someone better than someone else? Their looks? Their social status? Their perfect hair?

Superficial, superficial, superficial.

When all is said and done in this world, are people going to look back and say "There goes Brad, he earned a lot of money, he was a great man and is of greater importance than others." or "Hey it's Brad, boy he's good looking, he is so much more important than everyone else." or "Those amazing brand name clothes that Brad is wearing makes him so much cooler than me, I wish I was that important...time to go buy Brand X."

Why are we obsessed with such trivial things. I got sucked into this cycle of idiocy recently...I never cared about this before, and now I do because everyone else does. It is okay to think like this though, I mean, life is just as it is. We find different meanings for it ourselves, and that is what makes this world amazing - everyone is unique.

It is up to us to find our own niche in this world and our own purpose. I am going to try my best to not judge as much as I can...though it has become a bad habit...it isn't permanant.

I have always tried to grow, and recognize what I could. I will push ahead further, and that is all anyone can ask of me.
