Weird Gamers

Okay, I dont really understand why some gamers are so mad all the time! I understand losing is frustrating, but to be so mad about it and start the name calling/shit talking which eventually turns into a racial battle as the envitable racial slur is thrown in.

Honestly, what's behind all this rage? Is it rage that they dont get to express in real life so they express it online? I suppose that makes me feel a little better, that at least they dont say that to people's faces...sure it doesnt make anything less racist. The whole "Chinese Farmer" thing bugs the hell outta me. These damn people and their assumption that everyone who doesnt understand you is a "Chinese Farmer" which later turns into being called a "gook" or "chink". At least "chink" would go along with this whole "Chinese Farmer" thing...but "gook"? At least consistent with your stupid racist remarks.

The shit talking online is really just sad. I will often yell back, but we all know I don't hold a candle to Ed in that department. I mean, all of societies little ethnocentric ways come on from American...and sadly Canadian gamers alike. A nice North American attitude that "We're better than you...Bitches!" type feeling comes across. No wonder people hate the States, hopefully Canada will not be lumped into that. Man, there are just so many things wrong with this! Sigh, and there is really nothing I can do but try to reason with them and remind them that it's an online game, and they need to relax. Of course, they read 'relax' and rage into a defensive fit, "I DON'T NEED TO RELAX!" which only further proves my point, they need to relax.

Games are supposed to be fun. Yes, challenging as well, and that is what leads to the frustration, that people can't do what they want to in the game, therefore they get frustrated. However, you know this is part of the game when you start playing, or at least you shouldn't be so ignorant to believe that you will win every game - especially online! Really, I feel as though it's just a bunch of people who try to boost their self-confidence through online games, and this in turn, makes them upset because it attacks their weak spot - their insecurity.

It's really quite sad, the thought of someone who gets their jollies out of camping someone lower level, and clearly a class that is weak to them. For example, last night I had two rogues camping me, a holy priest. Now, for those of you without a background in World of Warcraft, a holy priest is mainly geared towards healing and keeping others in their party alive to kill things. Rogues are stealthy assassins that can go invisable and stun you for long periods of time dealing very high amounts of damage, their downfall is that they also take lots of damage. However, as a not damaging class, a holy priest vs a rogue is really suicide, especially two rogues. So I was standing there last night, turning in some quests, and I get killed by some rogue. I laugh it off, because well, that happens sometimes, as long as they dont camp, I dont get very frustrated. But instead, they bring another rogue, and go invisable right over my body, so when I come back to finish these quests again, they kill me. This is repeated for several minutes. I watch as they stand and laugh and blow kisses at my dead body.

How is this fun to them? It seems like either a very childish thing to do (Though it is highly possible that they are 10 years old), or just a turdy thing to do. Regardless, the thought of someone high level, geared towards killing, killing someone lower level, geared to someone who is almost defenseless, is pretty sick. And then camping them. I mean, I admit, I kill random low levels that are in my way, but I dont sit around and wait for them to come back so I can torture them. Who gets fun out of torture?! And if they are 10 year old children...that's even more disturbing that they are finding torturing someone (who they fullwell know is behind that computer screen on the other side) entertaining! What is this world coming to.

I mean, of course they could just be showing their friends how funny it is to kill someone over and over and over and just be an asshole, but after the maybe...10th to 20th time, it gets boring - plus you dont get any bonuses for killing people after the 5th time. It's not even like they're getting revenge on me for doing something to them earlier. Well, I suppose I could have killed them once a long time ago and they kept the name down and when they see someone on this list, they kill them. Which is also kinda sick too...reminds me of someone that would keep a list of people they hated in high school (Like in Billy Madison) and would get ready to kill them.

I don't know, maybe there are other things that could be going on other than this person on the otherside thinking they are torturing someone. Let's hope I just didnt think of it and really they're good people.

Sigh, online gaming is crazy, I'm just glad I know people that aren't crazy that will play with me. Oh online gaming, how crazy you are.
